iPad Pro (M4) Review: Overkill, But Incredible
The M4 iPad Pro is the most powerful tablet ever made — and the most expensive. Here’s who should actually buy it.
Overview
The M4 iPad Pro is a statement device: an OLED display, desktop-class performance, and a design that’s absurdly thin. It’s the best tablet money can buy — the question is whether you need that much tablet.
M4 performance
The M4 is genuinely desktop-class. Video editing, 3D work, pro illustration — it handles everything you throw at it without blinking. For the first time, an iPad can replace a laptop for real creative work.
The OLED display
The Ultra Retina OLED is stunning — perfect blacks, incredible contrast, and ProMotion 120Hz. It’s the single biggest reason to pay the premium if you draw, edit, or watch a lot of video.
Apple Pencil Pro
The Pencil Pro adds squeeze and barrel-roll gestures on top of hover and pressure. For illustrators it’s a meaningful upgrade; for note-takers it’s nice but not essential.
Who it’s for
The Pro is for professionals and serious creators — illustrators, video editors, designers. If you just stream, read, and write, the Air or base iPad gets you 90% of the way for a fraction of the price.
Verdict

The Pro and the accessories that justify it.
